Our government’s first and most important responsibility is providing for our common defense and security. Since we first cast off the shackles of government oppression, America has been a beacon for liberty.

After fighting tyranny across the globe through the 20th century, and securing our place as a defender of human rights globally, our shining beacon has been dimmed.

We’ve spread our military too thin at a time when weakness invites foreign threat. Weakness is provocative.

The men and women of our armed forces sacrifice much for their country — and deserve to be well equipped to carry out the mission of defending their nation. But Washington’s lack of fiscal discipline has left them in the lurch.

Our servicemen and women are dedicated to their nation — to you and me. They deserve our appreciation and our unqualified support and thanks.
